Mary Mannhardt, M.Ed
Author, Dark Marathon

Mary Mannhardt is a mental health advocate, eating disorders therapist, and inspirational/motivational speaker. Her journey took her from an Olympic hopeful, nationally ranked distance runner to an inpatient client in a psychiatric unit.
Her story from tragedy to triumph has been featured in Young Miss, People, and Sports Illustrated periodicals as well as The New York Times. Mary teamed with best-selling author Gregg Lewis to coin her biography Dark Marathon during her senior year of college. Published by Zondervan in 1989, but can still be purchased today. This led to an outpouring of support from across the country. Mary has appeared on the “Today Show,” “Geraldo” and “ABC World News Tonight.” Mary now runs Mary Mannhardt Ministries which is geared to women and teens battling with depression and eating disorders.
In addition to her ministry, Mary is also active in Toastmaster’s International and her local church.
